Serial production is carried out in our various facilities, depending on annual volumes, complexity and market. The various processes are approved and supported by our established partner companies. Thermal deburring, surface treatment and contaminant free transports are standard parts of the processes. Assembly and testing are carried out in specially adapted rooms.

We have been working with separation of air in oil since 1999 and we are constantly developing new solutions. Today we have several different technologies, but they all use the principle of separation. Oil is heavier than air and we can force air in to the center of a rotating oil flow. We can offer tanks from 4 liter of oil up to several hundred liters. The technology reduces space and weight by 50 to 90 % in hydraulic systems.
A Cyclone insert is arranged to be placed in a surrounding tank with the possibility to integrate a return filter.

CycloneConcept for remarkable savings
Design of manifolds with optimization of flow paths and poppet valves. This technology is constantly developed by PMC Hydraulics and it can reduce the size of manifolds by more than 50 %.
Several different valve configurations are assembled directly inside the manifold. The size of each valve can be optimized in order to meet customer demands.
PMC Hydraulics Patents protects the technology. The cavity for each poppet and the seat can have a great variation of tolerances in order to achieve exactly the right solution with optimized cost.
Each poppet is also a very cost optimized product with low manufacturing cost. A large number of spools and springs can be added for different kinds of hydraulic functions. Poppets can be stacked very close and oil flow can pass through several poppets due to their design. Manifold can be custom designed also for lower annual demands.
We use the poppet as a very cost effective solution in several manifolds today, and we get lower pressure drops in smaller manifolds. The poppet can be produced to fit in a hole with low tolerances, due to the simple bottom of the hole. Pressure drop can be as low as 1 bar at 200 lpm without high cost or big need for space. There are no seat with an angled surface that the poppet must hit with high accuracy and the poppet can also handle some variation of the angle. We have a high level of dirt retention with the combination of poppets and steel manifolds with Blacknite surface treatment.
Unloading valves on trucks is one example of a tough application. It is also very useful when we put several poppet very close together due to the very low pressure drop when we are bypassing several poppets inside the manifold. This is due to the shape of the poppet. We have very low leakage in the seat and we can also add different solutions under development to reduce the leakage on the side of the poppet to zero leakage. A 4/3 function can be created with four poppets and each poppet can be controlled individually in both operating directions to get a smooth acceleration and retardation of movements and smooth decompression of any captured pressure.
We are mostly using NG16 and NG25 valves or poppets and the flow of a NG25 poppet is approx. 450 lpm @ 9 bar pressure drop. Proportional poppets are also used in combination with steel manifolds that have Blacknite surface treatment. Proportional poppet can be used with poppet solutions to get a combination of proportional control and on/off control for cost optimization and low pressure drops.
For pressure regulating functions with pressure chock valves, like on knifes on harvester heads, we can offer several different solutions depending on your needs. We can use poppets from traditional logic pressure valves or poppet valves to fit big poppets in small space. This can create fast chock response by reducing the movement of the poppet during a chock. The chock response can follow the pilot pressure of a proportional relief valve that is also controlling a pilot operated pressure reducing valve with some lower base pressure setting. We are also using cross over valve poppets and other valves inside the manifold as a complement to using normal screw in valves from SUN or Hydraforce.
We can modify valves for special needs with our technology and use standard mobile valves sections together in order to create the best solution for every function. Proportional poppets can be used to create proportional functions as well as proportional pilot operated spools. Several proportional poppet can create a mobile valve manifold with several valve sections, together with digital or normal Load Sensing control. Digital load sensing is a technology that reduce the pressure drop to almost zero by only adding the energy needed and having valve control function with very low pressure drop. Proportional pressure relief solenoids can be added with poppet inside the manifold for pressure control functions.
In this area PMC Hydraulics is developing new solutions to reduce the size and the need for oil in the system. Cyclone Technology can provide several different ways to clean the air trapped inside the oil. We are also expanding the life of the oil by reducing air content. Separation of air can be retrofitted to operational equipment with the need to expand life of oil and to reduce foam. Air bubbles in lubrication systems for gearboxes can be very small which make them much more difficult to remove. At the same time small bubbles create a high degree of oxidization when the active contact surface between air and oil is very big.
PMC Hydraulics is developing several different ranges of lubrication system from normal hydraulic oil to high viscosity oil systems. PMC has long experience in developing systems for marine and industrial applications. Several different solutions for manifolds, pump units and nozzles have been developed and we have long experience of different individual products.
PMC Hydraulics designs lightweight, small volume swivel and manifold solutions for narrow spaces. This swivel technology is frequently used in robotic equipment and mobile machines like e.g. excavators, which need to operate the bucket in multiple directions.
PMC Hydraulics has designed seals and optimized flow path inside swivels for many years. Our solutions often combine a swivel and a very compact manifold with spools in body technology.
To create the best possible solution for each unique application, we use several different suppliers of proportional valves and on/off valves. Our poppet technology with proportional control can also be used to achieve high flow demand in very small spaces. To make the design smaller, we use pressure poppet valves for cross-over functions as well as other solutions. Electric cabling with interface for electric swivels can also be used.
We havedeveloped a new breakthrough technology that integrates tractor and machine drive systems into a single "road train" unit.
The road train feature copes with difficult terrain The Copro-Drive System controls direction and speed using the tractor's ISO Bus system. It enhances the typical wagon train traction by between 20-25%, thus reducing rolling resistance, in cases when the wheels pull up land in front of them.
The new drive system complements the tractor's pulling force and enables the tractor and its machine or trailer to function as a road train. The road train feature reduces the risk of wheel spin, and thus allows the unit to drive into places otherwise inaccessible to combination vehicles.
PMC have developed unique expertise in the field of lubrication with extremely thick oils with a viscosity of up to 25,000 cSt. The disadvantage of grease lubrication, which is often used in heavy applications, is that it results in residues that involve expense and a negative environmental impact. The application of oil with traditional compressed air means that the oil film mixes with the air, resulting in reduced bearing capacity and poorer lubrication effect.
