Hydraulic Design Engineer

In this role, you would be part of an global engineering team offering customized solutions from construction and design to complete hydraulic systems and components. Your main task would be designing hydraulic solutions for global customer projects. The company offers solutions for industrial, marine, mobile, and energy applications and thus you would have a great opportunity to utilize and widen your expertise in versatile design tasks. In addition to hydraulics design, you would participate in the mechanical design of e.g. steel structures, tanks, and valve cabinets. According to your strengths and interests, you may also take part in different project management tasks and testing and verification of the designed solutions. However, your main goal is to contribute to the high-quality design and functionality of PMC Hydraulics’ solutions.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have good knowledge of hydraulics through your previous experience or your studies. You may be a fresh graduate with an interest in hydraulic engineering or you may already have gained relevant work experience - either way, you are truly motivated and eager to learn more. As a Hydraulic Design Engineer, you work in close collaboration with different internal and external stakeholders, including customers, so we assume you to have good communication and cooperation skills. The role includes occasional visits to production sites, so a willingness to travel occasionally is also expected. The design work requires accuracy, self-directive working style, and project management skills but you would get full support from the experienced team. With the right attitude, you also have a great opportunity to grow in more responsible roles in the future.

We expect you to have:

- Appropriate technical degree, BSc/MSc
- Knowledge of hydraulics - either through studies or work experience
- Some relevant work experience, for example from engineering and design tasks
- Skills in modern design software (e.g. Inventor or Solidworks)
- Full working proficiency in English - interaction skills in Finnish are needed aswell
- Understanding of mechanics and manufacturing technology
- Skills in project management
